Job Description

The Quality Assurance Intern safely performs position specific responsibilities in line with Olympic Steel's Core Values to ensure a high level of productivity, quality and internal and external customer service while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures. This intern will assist with automating and streamlining processes with the use of technology and Olympic Steel/Berlin Metals systems. The intern will also assist the Quality Assurance team with process mapping, data collection, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be a college junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Information Technology or related field of study with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Experience with Visual Basic, Excel, and Access
• Understanding of DB Design, software architecture, and application development
• Understanding of hardware components for servers, desktops, and other infrastructure equipment
• Knowledge of current and emerging technological development in software, web and mobile technologies
• Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical skills and process focused
• Progressive, flexible and team oriented
• Formal Lean training in Value Stream Management tools, kaizen methods and other key Lean tools and methodologies a plus
