Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is hiringfor a Lead Pilot in Command position in support of a G450 based just outside of Chicagoland in Gary, IN. This is a three-pilot account flying approximately 300-350 hours a year, part 91 and internal part 135 (no retail charter). This aircraft is supported by a full-time Maintenance Technician and has dedicated hangar space.
The owner of this aircraft values quality of life and most of the trip calendar is known one to two months in advance. The three-pilot crew (Lead, PIC and SIC) is utilized to maintain a healthy work-life balance. All international trips are scheduled with ample notice to ensure time for planning and crew coordination. Additionally, travel home between flight segments is frequently approved.
This position is not commutable and will require residing within driving distance of Gary IN, GYY airport.
The ideal candidate for this position is a Pilot in Command with leadership experience, a passion for safety, excellent crew resource management skills, and a focus on client satisfaction. The Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) serves as a peer-leader to a designated flight department with a focus on effective crew resource management, client service and completion of flight department administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flying schedule and adheres to all PIC duties and expectations. Other requirements of the position include stocking and maintaining the stock for the aircraft, communicating regularly with the owner office and interacting with the dedicated maintenance manager in an effort to align maintenance to the trip/training schedule.
This is not a commutable position and will require residing within driving distance of Gary Airport GYY.
