Under direct supervision, the Business Services Representative assists clients in locating appropriate employment opportunities and assists employers in hiring qualified candidates. Evaluates client/candidate placement and employability potential. This position serves both candidate and employer equally in all areas related to matching professional and skilled candidates with appropriate job opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • The Business Services Representative will manage existing employer relations, develop new business relationships, and manage the applicant tracking, candidate screening, and submission process.
  • The BSR will understand employer's needs and access necessary information to place clients/candidates in successful environments, When the need arises, uses business knowledge, collaborative approach, teamwork and insights about client/candidate skills to encourage client's retention and maintenance of the placement.
  • Evaluates client/candidate marketability and submits appropriate candidates to employer. Sets up interviews and follows up with clients/candidates and employers after interviews.
  • In cooperation with Employment Specialists, evaluates client/candidate potential, including resumes and interview readiness.
  • Identifies appropriate job openings appropriate for clients/candidates through thoughtful use of existing agency job leads, cold calls, researching new opportunities and professional networking.
  • Initiates face-to-face and phone contacts with potential employers to introduce and explain Agency/program services, describe clients served, and to learn about current job openings.
  • Skills market clients/candidates to companies by cold calling employers to create new relationships and present talent for consideration. Takes job orders and responds to employer inquiries.
  • Maintains accurate and updated records and files of employer and client contacts, including client follow up. Obtains and evaluates all pertinent information about each client/candidate, including employment restrictions and qualifications.
  • Distributes job leads and shares pertinent information with staff.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with professional standards. Works cooperatively with co-workers and maintains collaborative relationships with Agency employees, clients/clients, and outside representatives. Where appropriate, demonstrates empathy and concern in client/client interaction. May represent Agency to external partners. Complies with all appropriate Agency policies and procedures including prescribed safety procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and minimum three years of recruitment, staffing and sales experience as a third-party recruiter, corporate recruiter, or workforce development specialist or successful sales professional.
  • Experience of working with individuals with disabilities a plus.
  • Knowledge of best practices resumes, interviewing techniques, business hiring methods and requirements.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, and professional journals, to write reports and business correspondence, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients or consumers, and the general public.
  • Highly organized, with excellent time management and multi-tasking ability
  • Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent oral and written communication skills, time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to establish and implement short- and long-range goals and objectives. Produce and present monthly performance reports.
  • Conceptualize and implement partnering opportunities with employers. Work collaboratively with a variety of agency staff.
