ChampionX has an immediate need for a Project Engineering located in Sugar Land, TX. The Project Engineer will develop scopes for bid and execution of capital projects for the Sugar Land plant. This position will ensure that plant safety, environmental and PSM procedures are being followed.

What You Will Do:

  • Supports ChampionX profit goals by continually seeking process improvements in all operations at the Sugar Land plant.
  • Supports and is committed to ChampionX Quality Improvement Process. Plans strategies to ensure error-free work by "doing it right the first time" and conveys this attitude in the daily performance of various duties. Applies the four Absolutes of Quality for internal and external customers.
  • Supports ChampionX commitment to the guiding principles of Responsible Care to continually improve ChampionX health, safety and environmental performance, and company efforts to respond to public concerns relating to design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of products.
  • Provides key technical support to the engineering department and provide feedback to other engineers to help their development.
  • Develops goals, action plans and timelines for the engineer project completion.
  • Understands the safety, environmental and PSM procedures to ensure that the site is in compliance and that all new projects meet the needed requirements.
  • Facilitates the implementation of new policies or procedures.
  • Coordinates projects to effect timely, cost-effective, and safe completion within set quality standards.
  • Advises management of methods to maximize return on capital investment and determines economic justification for investment.
  • Recommends services, and designs systems and materials to be purchased by plants or business units to best meet corporate objectives.
  • Provides assistance or management, including start-up, as dictated by project demands.
  • Oversees capital budget and ensures projects are spending to forecast. Interfaces with corporate engineering to align capital spending metrics.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or a related technical degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a batch chemical plant or advanced degree required.
