Senior Accountant

Summary Ideal candidate will possess knowledge and experience to apply principles of accounting (GAAP) to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Prepares month end closing entries to include purchases, material costs, allocations and inventory for Elgin and Schiller Park locations
• Reconciles all inter company data accounts, submits month end closing data to NTN USA and NTN Japan head office each month using Stravis
• Processes accounts payable for Schiller Park location. Includes matching of invoices with purchase orders and receipts. Investigates and resolves all discrepancies
• Prepares intercompany wire transfers.
• Prepares all account reconciliations after month-close.
• Provides backup for payroll and weekly check run
• Posts cash receipts to, and maintains the G/L for Elgin and Schiller Park locations.
• Reconciles sales and enters month end journal entries into JDE.
• Updates monthly budget performance report and analysis.
• Assists with quarterly and semi-annual business plan preparations
• Assists with the implementation of system controls for new financial systems and procedures to improve existing processes.
• Assists in the preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with a minimum of five years related experience.

Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

• Significant experience in inter-company transactions is highly desirable.
• Experience in ERP transition/implementation is a plus.
• Knowledge of JDE 9.2

Work Environment

Most work is done an office environment.

Some work will be in a plant environment, may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic chemicals and/or vibration. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, Hearing protection, safety glasses and gloves, is provided and required in the plant.
