Who We Are -

The Milliman - Tampa Supplemental Products Team is a practice within Milliman, Inc., one of the largest actuarial consulting firms in the world. Our team was established in 1998 and has since expanded into a broad consulting group which focuses on supplemental health and life products such as accident, critical illness, cancer, hospital indemnity, term life, universal life, and whole life. We also focus on long term care (LTC), combination, and Medicare supplement products. We provide a wide range of services including strategic, actuarial, compliance and market research consulting. Our research work includes market surveys of the supplemental health and life industries.

The Department/Team -

The research team works across multiple departments, allowing you to work with a variety of industry professionals. The work is fun, challenging, entrepreneurial, and impactful.

Role -
  • Support all phases of market research studies, including study design, questionnaire development, survey programming, fieldwork coordination, qualitative data collection, data cleaning, data analysis, consultative report writing, and presentations.
  • Aid in the marketing and delivery of the research product to clients.
  • Collaborate regularly with teams across the organization on research projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Recommend process improvements.
  • Effectively maintain and communicate project status.
  • Manage and organize project documentation and network folders.
  • Guide all research work products through internal quality control processes to produce error-free deliverables.
Qualifications -

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in an analytical and/or research field, or commensurate experience.
  • Coursework or applied experience conducting qualitative and quantitative market or consumer surveys.

Preferred:

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong writing and data storytelling skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint to produce charts and graphs that clearly depict results and to create effective presentation-style reports.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel to manage datasets, run analyses, and produce charts and graphs that clearly depict results.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel to create surveys is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare executive-level reports in Microsoft Word.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Publisher is a plus.
  • Experience designing surveys using online instruments such as SurveyMonkey (preferred), Qualtrics, or Google Forms.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet demanding timelines.
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and pro-active attitude.
  • Familiarity with supplemental health benefit industry preferred.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is based out of the Milliman office in Tampa, FL. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.
