Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary
The Graduate Assistant (GA) provides support for program implementation, student leadership initiatives, and other functions of the Office of Community Engaged Learning (OCEL). The GA will report to the Director of Community Engaged Learning and collaborate with the OCEL Team, including other GAs, the Director, the Faculty Advisor, and a team of undergraduate student leaders and student employees.


Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.

-Maintain a regular, though flexible, schedule to allow for participation in campus meetings and engage with OCEL events and activities
-Collaborate with the OCEL team members to support student leaders in the Community Engaged Learning Facilitators (CELF) Program as they work with on and off-campus partners
-Plan and implement monthly CELF Program social and reflective gatherings in collaboration with the CELF Program Coordinator(s);
-Collaborate with OCEL staff to produce promotional materials (i.e., annual report, flyers, brochures, etc.) for campus and public events;
-Maintain digital presence for OCEL, including office website, social media engagement, and weekly CELF Program newsletters;
-Develop and/ or foster relationships with community partners, as appropriate;
-Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills with all collaborators;
-Represent OCEL at campus and community meetings;
-Represent OCEL at campus visit days and orientation events as needed;
-Miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Must be enrolled and maintain satisfactory progress in one of Lewis University's graduate programs. Strong organizational time management skills. Ability to be independently driven and self-motivated. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate in a timely and professional manner. Openness to collaboration, including receiving and giving constructive feedback. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with or openness to utilizing design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Canva, or similar). Familiarity with social media platforms
