Job Description

Summary: The Regional Account Manager within our Rousselot/Gelnex group is responsible for customer-facing interactions with customers and prospects in North America. The role will be focused on Collagen Proteins targeted towards the Nutritional and Food space including but not limited to Functional foods, Bar manufacturers, Powder format manufacturers, powder protein blends, and tableting dosage forms. In addition, Gelatin needs at assigned accounts will also be a part of the role. The scope of the role includes management of current accounts and new accounts with a total revenue of $20-100 Million in sales.

Job Requirements:

  • Services existing accounts - obtain contract agreements, orders, etc. and establish new accounts by planning and organizing monthly work schedules to interact with existing or potential customers.
  • Works closely with fellow Sales, Supply Chain and Plant Operations teammates.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop relationships with customers; ask for their feedback and provide feedback to the overall team.
  • Focuses sales efforts by prioritizing existing and potential volume of sales.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity plans and results plans as needed.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, etc.
  • Responsible for updated information in relevant systems (forecasting, CRM, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, food science or related field; OR
  • In lieu of a college degree, 3 to 8 years of work experience in B2B sales (food/nutritional ingredient industry would be a bonus).
  • This position requires travel (flying and driving). A valid Driver's License and clean driving record are a must.
  • Fluent in English (Portuguese/Spanish is a plus, not mandatory)
  • Knowledge of a business environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in proteins like whey, soy, pea, etc.
  • Well organized, with excellent time management skills.
  • Solid communication skills both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated; self-confident; self-starter; customer friendly personality.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel by air, automobile, walking, etc.
  • Lifting ability in general up to 20-40 pounds (samples, travel luggage, etc.)
  • Extended periods spent sitting/standing at desk in front of computer screen.
  • Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions will primarily be carried out in office environments, although periodic interactions will be held within Customer's and Darling/Rousselot Plant environments.
