Global Account Manager Cables North America

Job Purpose:

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing Customers for the Cables North America Division thathave production services in our plant in Monterrey and USA. As our Business Development Managers bring in new business, the Account Manager will support day-to-day operations, and commercial activities for Mexico services.

Nature of Duties:

Account Manager

  • Responsible for a key Customer Strategic Account - prime the relationship with the customer service/supplier organizations, product teams, and internal communications links.
  • Act as local commercial contact in these interactions, escalation point, and in ensuring alignment to global strategic account direction, initiatives & goals.
  • Drive revenue achievement and growth in assigned accounts/services/vertical integration segments by analyzing and meeting customer needs and developing account plans.
  • Understand customer strategies and future product plans/evolutions as part of developing penetration strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Own & drive completion of incremental business opportunities/RFQs, including coordinating corporate & plant resources as required, through to submission of effective, innovative proposals to the customer and the negotiation of associated terms to capture profitable business.
  • Develops proposals & solutions to address Customer strategies & win business.
  • Direct account and plant/corporate teams to optimize the relationship focusing on sales strategy, customer service, technology development/alignment to Customer technology roadmaps.
  • Partner with the operations & program management teams to address customer specific initiatives and strategies. Act as escalation point.
  • Drive/negotiate pricing to accomplish profitability targets.
  • Enforce all aspects of the contract, ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions. Identify and solution any gaps that may evolve as business needs evolve.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to meet with Customers as part of fostering strong relationships based on trust and understanding.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 8 years of related sales experience in manufacturing, connector and/or electro-mechanical industry experience.
  • Previous success in commercial roles for companies with best-in-class operations; preferably with key customer relationships in defense, automotive, medical or other sectors that consume large amounts of cables and/or electro-mechanical integration.
  • Highly motivated with entrepreneurial attitude and outlook, strong work ethics with high level of integrity
  • Demonstrable success in managing & growing existing customers.
  • Significant experience in the cables business is essential, with understanding of costing & pricing. Experience in reading and understanding assembly/equipment BOM's and Cost Models
  • A desire to innovate and constantly search out better ways to address our Customer's evolving needs.
  • Manage and update all business agreements with the customer
  • Proven organization/Project Management skills; comfortable managing multiple projects/initiatives and exercises solid judgment in prioritization and managing expectations internally and with Customers, as priorities evolve.
  • Experience on Coordinating Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), plant and customer site visits.
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, interpersonal and closing skills
  • Experience working with vast remote cross-functional teams in large matrix organizations
  • Project management skills are desired with excellent ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize
  • Overnight travel as required within USA and Mexico
