Duties and Responsibilities | Performs experimental procedures involving preparation of reagents, bacterial cell culture, microscopy, and molecular biology. Gathers, organizes, and records data. Analyzes experimental results. Tries out new protocols and methodologies into work as directed by PI and/or senior lab staff. Orders lab supplies, handles shipping, replenishes common lab reagents, and maintains orderly records of these activities. Participation in weekly group meetings and departmental seminars. Maintains a safe and orderly lab environment. Ensures compliance with safety regulations. Some molecular biology experience is a plus. Knowledge and/or interest in learning computational techniques and basic scripting (R, Python, Matlab) is a plus. |
