Job Summary:

As the Lead, Finance - Modeling & NPD, you will be responsible for creating models that are instrumental to the financial management of the business unit product portfolio and new product evaluations. You will construct models using Excel and, later, in conjunction with IT, construct a systemic for portfolio analysis and evaluation. You will consolidate all active business cases monthly and provide analytics and insights. Summarized data will be provided to financial management and to the Engineering PMO. You will provide routine maintenance and enhancements to the new product model template and will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence to achieve modeling results. In addition, you will provide Commercial Finance guidance on long-range strategic business and financial planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience providing financial analysis and creating complex financial models in Excel

  • Experience building complex and well-controlled business case models using Excel

  • Experience with ERP systems and planning tools

  • Experience in deploying investment support decision-making metrics such as IRR, NPV, etc.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Masters in Business Administration and CMA / CPA

  • Consumer Durables or Software company experience

  • Product or service costing

  • SAP and Business Intelligence

  • Knowledge of Python or other statistical tools

  • Knowledge of SQL

Additional Job Details:

  • Build comprehensive models used to evaluate the product portfolios of the Company's business units for all elements of hardware and related software / service revenue streams

  • Develop a model to evaluate software investments; maintain and update as needed, communicating updates to stakeholders as appropriate

  • Maintain and refine New Product Development financial business model

  • Create world-class data visualizations that consume the output from models above and other data sources to improve analysis and decision-making of model users from Analyst through the Executive Leadership Team

  • Drive consistency in the preparation of all New Product Development financial business cases, ensure all projects follow the same guidelines for financial assumptions and that NPD monthly timelines and deliverables are upheld; work with Finance business partners to ensure NPD financial model reflected developments for accounting for both hardware and software / service streams

  • Work with NPD Project Finance leads to ensure project financial assumptions are well documented, are reviewed and agreed with Project Management and deliver "call to action" messaging as needed to ensure NPD process is followed especially as it relates to projected sales, cost, CAPEX, and incremental expenses

  • Work closely with NPD Portfolio Management to ensure all Financial portfolio schedules are kept up to date with most recent data points and ensure all Project Finance Leads are providing the required level of support to their respective project teams

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to the Financial Analyst community in regards to the NPD financial model by answering analyst questions and delivering training to new hires

  • Prepare project portfolio reporting ensuring any changes in assumptions, sales or cost estimates, and project capital or expense requirements are clearly explained ahead of each monthly NPD meeting

  • Prepare consolidating financial analysis to assist with the preparation of company meeting and board of directors presentations

  • Create models with a high degree of autonomy by engaging with key commercial operational and engineering leaders. Utilize communication and influence skills to create consensus around key modeling decisions

  • Utilize best-in-class internal control concepts to ensure the accuracy and consistency of model templates
