Job Description

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Sous Chef/Lead Cook
  • Location: Elmhurst Hospital
  • Full Time
  • Hours: 11:00am-7:30pm with rotating weekends and Holidays

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Illinois Department of Public Health Sanitation Certification within 3 months of start date into position

What is preferred:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant management/Hospitality
  • A minimum of five years of food service experience
  • A minimum of two years of leadership experience
  • Completion of an ACF (American Culinary Federation) accredited culinary arts or hospitality management program

What you will do:

This position assists the Executive Chef in overseeing the Cooks. This includes ensuring compliance to local and federal production, sanitation and safety standards, assisting in the training of new staff and notifying Facilities of any malfunctioning equipment. Functions as a Cook by preparing menu items utilizing standardized recipes for patients, cafeteria and the catered services.
