With diverse usage ranging from hot access for disks to hyperscale big data applications, Azure Storage is at the forefront of modern data management.We're committed to providing a highly reliable, performant, and cost-effective solution for storing data across a multitude of workloads.As a Principal Software Engineer on the Azure Storage Table Server team, you'll be integral to developing the core distributed metadata storage engine hosting exabytes of data around the world. This team focuses on exposing Azure Storage abstractions such as Virtual Machine Disks, Object Storage and Cloud Storage Area Network to your users, both within the company and to a large number of global customers. You'll be part of a group with a passion for correctness, scale, efficiency, resiliency, availability, and continuous improvement. Our mission is to build a platform that sets the standard for scale, reliability, and security in cloud storage, powered by cutting-edge distributed systems technology.As a Principal Software Engineer in Azure Storage, you'll design, implement, and ship new features that enhance the capabilities, reliability, and performance of the Azure Storage system. You'll collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers to tackle challenges posed by various workloads, ensuring Azure Storage remains the go-to choice for modern and pre-existing applications at large scale. ResponsibilitiesPartners with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios.Leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a service or platform.Leads by example and mentors others to produce extensible and maintainable code used across products.Leverages subject-matter expertise of cross-product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items.Holds accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), mentoring engineers across products/solutions, working on-call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.Embody our Culture and Values
