Job Description
Job Summary

Responsible for the full set up and safe, clean, efficient and consistent operation of Inspection and Packaging equipment and all associated documentation. Must be knowledgeable of and able to operate all packaging lines with HMI applications.

This position requires extensive amounts of leadership, decision making and coordination of co-workers. This position reports to the packaging Supervisor and/or Group Leader and has no direct reports of their own. This position does require the ability to effectively lead 3-8 co-workers to achieve goals. Quality must be maintained throughout all processes. Supports inspection/kitting and reclaim as needed.

Responsibilities

In addition to the requirements listed in the Packaging Operator I Job Description the following are required:

  • Takes full responsibility for quality, personnel and productivity of packaging lines with HMI applications.
  • Setup and operation of serialization equipment and process.
  • Trouble shooting serialization I aggregation issues.
  • Maintains "Zero Defect" focus for all controllable packaging related quality measures, including AQL's, Line Clearances, documentation and re-inspections.
  • Responsible for planning and maintaining peak operating efficiency including scheduling breaks, maintenance activities, changeovers, check in/out. Understands line schedule and production targets. Contributes to weekly planning as needed.
  • Mentors, trains and evaluates Operators to improve overall group knowledge and support career development.
  • Reviews Operations and Maintenance logs to assure they are complete and comply with Good Documentation Practices. Performs and coordinates machine changeovers. Makes machine adjustments when necessary and determines when Maintenance support is required. Requests and supports execution of ECR's.
  • Participates with Maintenance group in performing PM's as applicable.
  • Provides improvement suggestions and supports implementation.
  • Requires Professionalism and Leadership abilities. Able to communicate with internal groups (Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse and others) and external groups (regulatory agencies) in a clear and knowledgeable manner.
  • Assures shift crossovers are productive and effective.
  • Provides feedback for personnel evaluations. Assures strict adherence to SOP's and cGMP's
  • Coordinates all line activities including segregation and re-inspections.
  • Accurately accounts for incoming components and usage. Completes SAP/Inventory paperwork.
  • Serve as a Qualified Trainer.
  • Sets an example for packers and operators.
