Packaging Attendant
Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Packaging Attendant to fill the role in Harvey, IL. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Packaging Attendant will be responsible to operate, set up and adjust tube mill automated stacking and banding equipment.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, processing steel. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do:
- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace by following 5S, Standard Work and wearing all required PPE
- Set up Tube Mill including consent monitoring of packaging equipment
- Assist in monitoring quality of material and packaging
- Scan all bundles using RF Scanner as produced and label appropriately
- Ensure edges of tubes are covered in rust inhibitor
- Complete inspection paperwork on time
- Operator packaging equipment or manual banding equipment
- Handling product to produce safe bundles for transport
- Required to conduct safety inspection of work area daily
- Fill out hour by hour
What you'll bring:
- Experience in industrial manufacturing.
- RF Scanning experience.
- Strong sense of time organization and sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen.
Within 3 months, you'll:
- Show progress and/or complete job specific training
- Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
- Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
