TRC is seeking highly motivated, qualified individuals to fill a Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer position in our firm. This position will have an emphasis in site/civil/engineering, environmental planning, and permitting for a variety of projects and clients in the areas of energy, utilities development, and transportation. The successful candidate can work from various locations in the United States, however preference is given to the Rocky Mountain or Tennessee Valley Region.


Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will be an integral part of advancing the landscape architectural services and abilities of the firm, and directly involved with a wide variety of renewable energy, electric generation and transmission, and pipeline projects.
  • Performing time sensitive work for submission and permitting purposes.
  • Collaborating directly with a variety of professional team members internally to ensure that each assignment follows the project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Preparing estimates, specifications, details, plans, and reports for various Land Development Submissions.
  • Understanding and interpreting federal, state, and local planning and zoning ordinances for a project.
  • Performing short-term field assignments if required; therefore, the candidate must be willing and physically able to travel and work outdoors in rough and remote terrain under challenging environmental conditions; and have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Seeking qualified candidates with a Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture from an accredited University.
  • Registered Landscape Architect preferred, or on path to be registered.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working for a professional landscape architecture or environmental engineering firm, or similar practice.
  • Experience working with the Land Development process and possess a strong understanding of site/civil engineering design. The successful applicant must have the ability to perform work on site/civil engineering tasks at certain points in time using AutoCAD software.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3d are mandatory (Version 2022 or newer).
    • Possess strong organizational and computer skills (Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite).
    • Possess excellent technical writing and strong communication skills are mandatory.
    • Perform well under deadlines and maintain a positive attitude year-round.
    • Work independently and in an organized manner.
    • Work with multiple permitting and design disciplines.
    • Understand and observe scope, schedule, budget, and quality while meeting client expectations.
    • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to TRC's insurance carrier.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Registered Landscape Architect, or Landscape Designer with exceptional qualifications.
  • Strong proposal writing, scoping, and pricing skills.
  • Technical Knowledge and Experience with:
    • Native plant species, pollinator-friendly plant species, and/or pollinator initiatives.
    • Vegetation management, visual mitigation, and/or forest conservation plans and reports.
    • Consultation and coordination with federal, state, and local agencies and their processes.
    • Preparing site/civil/engineering construction specifications, details, and plans. Specifically, site layout, erosion and sedimentation controls, earthwork grading, stormwater drainage, and landscape plantings; stormwater, wetland, and visual mitigation planting concepts; permitting, planning, and zoning code review; and natural resource inventories.
    • Autodesk Civil 3d, 3ds Max, and stormwater modeling software are a strong plus.
    • Photography using a 35mm camera or equivalent.
  • Preference will also be given to applicants that have experience working on energy, renewable, and transportation projects, as well as solid experience with federal, state, and local permitting and siting.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
