Analog Modules, Inc. is recruiting for a Digital Circuit Design Engineer.

The Digital Circuit Design Engineer researches, designs, and develops digital circuits and firmware in new products for electro-optics and laser electronics using computer assisted engineering, design software, and customer guidelines. Supports existing product line with modifications; updates products as needed by the customer, manufacturing, testing, and quality control departments.

Principle duties/responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops digital circuits and firmware for electronic assemblies.
  • Tests firmware and software to ensure correct operation. Debug as necessary.
  • Writes documentation and creates schematics for products. Provides documentation to drafting and assists in drawing creation and review as required.
  • Works under the direction of the project leader for assigned projects with emphasis on digital design. Oversees budgetary process to ensure that budgets of time and raw materials are not exceeded.
  • Develops test procedures and test fixtures, programs, and sub routines, for assigned products and projects. Reviews test results and documentation prior to shipment.
  • Reviews customer returns and repairs for assigned products in the digital area.
  • Provides insights and advice to other engineering personnel regarding non-assigned projects.
  • Assists technical sales personnel and the Director of Engineering prepare cost projections by estimating time and raw materials needed on an individual job basis.
  • Troubleshoots with customers to resolve technical questions and ensure all customer specifications have been met.
  • Identifies needs and prepares requisitions for materials, tools, and test equipment for specific jobs.
  • Investigate and develop solutions to resolve performance and reliability problems within existing equipment or system constraints.
  • Generate test plans to integrate and verify electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Performs miscellaneous projects as assigned and required.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of five years industry experience preferred.
  • VHDL programming, C++, and Virtual Basic experience preferred.
  • Proficient in digital electronics engineering, design, and documentation.
  • Understanding of analog electronics, electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, successfully setting priorities to accomplish goals.
Work Schedule
Analog Modules' Team Members work a 9/80 schedule, which means our workweek splits on Friday. Full-time Team Members work 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday and 8 hours on Friday one week of our pay period and the following week they work 9 hours per day Monday - Thursday and have that Friday off. This allows Team Members to enjoy a three-day weekend twice a month.
