Description:
The University of Illinois Chicago's Center for Drug Discovery (UICentre) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral research associate to join a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded, collaborative, medicinal chemistry project to optimize novel chemical entities in support of drug discovery and development of antiviral therapeutics.
Duties & Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Train other group personnel
- Participate in maintaining group instruments and materials
- Follow and exhibit proper safety practices; contribute to the lab's safety culture
- Assist with laboratory management
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of protein crystallography is highly desirable
- Experience with multistep organic synthesis and reaction optimization
- Experience in medicinal chemistry and analyzing structure-activity relationships
- Ability to maintain careful and organized records
- Ability to work productively in a collaborative environment
