Hydro Aluminium Metal a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

Job Summary:

Coordinate and optimize inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities ensuring efficient supply chain operations. Actively engage with third party logistics providers (3PLs), internal Hydro sales team, Metal Management and Commercial Operations for coordinating transportation, managing inventory, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of metal. Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and/or more than 3 years logistics experience in similar positions
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP Analytics and Power BI beneficial but not mandatory
  • Understanding of both warehouse and transportation management and familiarity with best practices in supply chain management
  • Strong data interpretation skills, allowing to propose solutions and process improvements
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and independence, coupled with robust analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, respond to rapid change, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Exhibit excellent communication, team, and interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a keen focus on customer and supplier relationships
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily requirements such as SAP system updates, freight schedules, stock tracking, port/warehouse arrivals, and order management
  • Develop and maintain a robust network of 3PLs, fostering strategic partnership and enhance overall supply chain capabilities
  • Facilitate regular meetings and reviews with 3PL partners to discuss performance, address challenges and explore opportunities for improvements
  • Tender and negotiate logistics contracts and service levels agreements in line with Hydro handling and shipping instructions
  • Analyze and approve invoicing and allocating costs for all outbound orders and warehousing expenses
  • Maintain accurate shipment reporting and tracking
  • Manage inventory levels and oversee the execution of inventory control procedures and FIFO principles
  • Review and respond to any claims or deduction related to order fulfillment, paperwork accuracy, on time delivery and damaged material with both vendors and customers
  • Ensure focus on continuous improvement to optimize, simplify and automate processes
  • Light travel may be required on a quarterly basis for inventory control and audit purposes. Travel may also be required for training purposes
