Overview
At TA Instruments the Buyer II is responsible for developing the Supply Chain within designated categories to ensure quality and continuity of supply, and continuous improvement in productivity and cost. The Buyer III will manage and liaise between the various manufacturers/suppliers and the procurement community in support of TA Instruments production requirements. Key activities include; supplier discovery and sourcing suppliers to manufacture components unique to TA Instruments, exercise judgment to address material issues, negotiate costs as required, review and manage purchase price variances and identifies standard pricing on an annual basis. This role is 50% transactional and 50% strategic.

This is an onsite position
Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to
    Manage RFQ and award process for assigned suppliers/commodity
  • Issue Purchase Orders per MRP messaging and manage scheduling activities with suppliers
  • Partner with Global Procurement Category managers to standardize activities according to global tools and processes
  • Gather and analyze data related to purchasing function. Inclusive of spend and supplier analytics, make vs buy analysis models, etc.
  • Manage suppliers to meet TA performance expectations; including the management of Quarterly Business Reviews and support for supplier quality audits
  • Negotiate supply agreements and work with the SQE to develop Quality Agreements
  • Manage inventory levels to support production while minimizing investment in accordance with inventory policies
The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following
  • Bachelors degree in a Technical or Business field with ability to understand the technical nature of materials being purchased; Supply Chain Mgt focus preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of engineering documentation and ability to communicate with technical staff
  • Analytical skills to collect, research, and interpret a variety of business, technical, and financial data; gathers and analyzes information strategically
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think creatively
  • Problem solving skills in order to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Lean experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a matrix organization, as well as the capability to represent TA to external sources in a professional and ethical manner
  • Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning, SAP Preferred but not required
  • CPIM, CPSM, CPM or PMP Preferred
