Responsibilities

Regional Controller - Behavioral Health


Provides interim support at facilities with vacant or transitioning CFO roles. Responsible for closing the hospital's books at month-end and daily, weekly or monthly tasks as assigned. Position is remote but may require travel.

* Provides daily oversight of payroll and accounts payable functions, including support and approval authority.

* Identifies areas for improvement in consistent communication with supervising authority. Continually monitors costs in all areas, especially staffing as it relates to patient volume. Ensures that daily/weekly/monthly hospital-based reporting is timely and accurate.

* Attends facility AR meetings remotely and reviews summarized AR minutes for submission by business office.

* Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analyses. Through account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls, prepares detailed financial statements to accurately reflect the monthly operating results.

* Provides required reporting. Provides reconciliations, account analyses, and other information for Reimbursement Department, Tax Department, Auditors, etc., to aid in preparation of reports.

* Prepares annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards. In cooperation with management and department heads, reviews prior financial results and discusses anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends of the facility. Tailors hospital needs to UHS objectives.


* Performs other duties as assigned/required.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Preferred)

Health care accounting experience required
5-8 years of related experience required (8-10 years preferred)
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Computer hardware/software skills required. Completion of training programs, as required.
5-10% travel as required. Remote Role
