Job Description

Location: Schenectady, NY

As a Billing Specialist, you will support the processing of financial transactions in a timely manner including submitting invoices, uploading invoices to customer portals, reporting on and managing the billing backlog, and providing support to team members.

Main Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver invoices, adhering to a customer's preferred Accounts Payable medium.
  • Ensure accuracy of customer invoices through a Quality Assurance process.
  • Own billing backlog reporting
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve disputes and payment issues.
  • Strive for personal and professional growth.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple customer portals.
  • Submit and follow up on notes and estimates in customer portals to ensure that invoices are entered quickly and accurately.
  • Answer inbound requests from multiple email boxes.
  • Be proactive and Execution Focused.
  • Build and maintain strong end-to-end partnerships with key stakeholders to drive project resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1+ Years in billing or other relevant experience.
  • Specific experience with service and inventory billing preferred.
  • Intermediate skill in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels of management and across functions.
  • Superior interpersonal skills: ability to build strong working relationships with customers, division management, field personnel, peers, 3rd party partners.
  • Self-motivated and both detail and process oriented
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook), workflow software, and ad hoc reporting tools and databases.
