Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Specialist.Hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. $20 to $24.50 per hour, DOE. About this opportunity An inventory specialist is responsible for overseeing daily activities for receiving functions of all incoming products and materials, verifying, and recording information in the system. Reconcile inventory against production orders.What you will do
  • Uphold all ethical standards associated with policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and Values
  • Comply with all the standards that are followed in the plant, including, but not limited to - Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI), and any other processes established within the plant
  • Oversee daily inventory transactions from production floor and adjust inventory levels as needed
  • Identify problem areas throughout warehouse and develop work instructions to ensure better accuracy
  • Analyze inventory data daily to solve inventory issues
  • Monitor and reconcile offsite material and maintain their inventory accuracy
  • Act as the primary contact for offsite inventory
  • Update 3rd party customers with monthly inventory levels, scorecard, and productivity
  • Work closely with finance team to address inventory variances and high value/usage departments
  • Manage Mid-Year and Year-end plant wide physical inventory cycle counts
  • Report large scrap variances to leadership team to develop ways to reduce scrap values and quantities
  • Provide weekly updates to leadership team on daily scrap totals and scrap variances
  • Assist Quality team with reconciling inventory from customer returns complaints/ reconciled within 30 days of receiving
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis process on inventory transactional errors
  • Collaborate closely with material processing team to verify BOMs and material blend sheets/update BOMs when necessary
  • Coordinate with shipping and receiving to confirm inventory deliveries and quantities
  • Complete additional inventory duties as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
What you have to offerEducation:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 2 years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment required.
Experience:
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
  • Inventory control experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Management Systems
  • Creating Pivot Tables, Analyzing inventory data
  • Experience in a fast pace working environment.

  • Ability to complete paperwork required per Good Documentation/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Leadership and ability to make independent decisions regarding daily inventory issues.
  • Ability to work with and lead teams.
  • Familiar with Standard work practice.
