Starting Pay Range: $19.00/hour
Shifts Available and Hours:

Nightshift

Sunday-Thursday

10:30pm to 7:00am

Shift Premium: Nightshift - $1.50/hour extra

Job Summary:

The Heat Treat Tech is responsible for loading extruded products into the aging oven to facilitate proper heat treatment for achieving the required temper. Ensures that test samples are routed to the Quality Assurance (QA) department for certification, maintaining adherence to quality standards and specifications. This involves careful handling and placement of products within the oven to optimize heat distribution and achieve consistent results, while also facilitating the timely transfer of samples for rigorous quality testing and certification by the QA team.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Proficient in understanding and executing fundamental instructions in English.
  • Possesses basic mathematical competencies, including operating a calculator and interpreting measurements using a tape measure.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with operating and navigating relevant operating/database systems specific to the position, including Oracle, SCS, and Die Viewer.
  • Exhibits the ability to collaborate harmoniously within a team setting.
  • Capable of efficiently and safely operating manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational abilities are essential for managing tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Possesses basic computer skills.
  • Certified in forklift operation and holds MEO (Machine Equipment Operator) Certification.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in the operation and calibration of Webster and Rockwell testing equipment.
  • Conducts visual inspections of cut ends to ensure the absence of profile distortion, twist, and straightness issues.
  • Reviews Rack Tag (RT) for alloy, temper, and finish, and stages ovens accordingly based on temper. Generates Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for mixed racks and returns them to the extrusion hold area.
  • Verifies temper, records proper temperature/lot number, and ensures accuracy by verifying material with the shape on the rack tag after pulling ovens.
  • Performs hardness tests and conducts Webster and Rockwell tests for reference and verification purposes only.
  • Validates the accuracy of scanned information and PT (Process Test) tag details and verifies cycle requirements and times.
  • Reviews materials on hold, resampling and testing for meeting minimum requirements. Reheat-treats or sends them to the lab within assigned timelines as necessary, while keeping dispositioned hold tags with the material as it proceeds downstream.
