We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Environmental Scientist in our Barrigada, Guam office.

What you will do:

The early career Environmental Scientist will support field sampling tasks. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Review field sampling plans with staff to address issues and concerns prior to performance of field activities.
  • Coordinate laboratories for analysis.
  • Develop field Quality Assurance/Quality Control measures and required documentation and field records based on the requirements for each project.
  • Perform reviews of field documentation (i.e. Chain-of-Custodies).
  • Coordinate testing services and facilitate communications between laboratory and field staff.
  • Define and convey Quality Assurance/Quality Control issues (for both field and laboratory operations) directly to Project Manager.
  • Assist in a wide range of projects which could include

o Site investigations.
o Habitat assessments and management.
o Threatened and endangered species surveys.
o Ecological monitoring.
o Wetland and aquatic resources characterizations and assessments.
o Solid waste compliance.
o Stormwater compliance.
o Construction support compliance.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with field work, sampling, analysis plan, Quality Control/Quality Assurance, and laboratory documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in both the office and the field.
  • Comfortability working in hot and humid conditions on challenging terrain with thick vegetation.
  • Attention to detail in following safety plans, work plans, collecting data, and preparing reports.
  • Ability to acquire access to military installations and have a valid driver's license.
