Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Civil Engineering Internship is designed to introduce students into the workforce. The program will build essential professional skills by offering opportunities for hands-on learning in a supportive yet challenging environment. The intern program is designed to round out participants' academic learning with real world experience and help them explore related areas of practice to find the best fit for their career path.

VHB has a specialized and dedicated Transit & Rail Practice providing integrated services for commuter rail, heavy rail, light rail, intercity/high-speed rail, freight rail, bus rapid transit, bus, and streetcar systems in urban, suburban, and rural environments. Our team assists transportation agencies through all phases of a project with environmental documentation; station, facility, and right-of-way design; transit/rail structures; rail systems; planning; cost estimation; grant submittals; demand estimation; and operations analysis and simulation. We provide all phases of transit and rail planning, engineering, and operations analysis to help bring these projects to life.

Qualifications

    High school student
  • An interest in career path in Civil Engineering; strong interest in transportation, land development, urban design, real estate, environmental, institutional, or energy sector
