What's the role?
The Lead Purchasing Specialist is a key position that executes proactive purchasing plans and leverages cutting-edge skills to optimize our supply chain. This pivotal role ensures seamless operations across our value streams by actively engaging in challenging tasks and improvement projects.

Here's what you'll do:


Utilize advanced techniques to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring continuous raw material availability while minimizing excess inventory. Work closely with suppliers to gather quotations, examine bids, and negotiate contracts to procure services and products promptly and cost-effectively.
Collaborate with planning managers, engineering, and production teams to analyze material requirements planning recommendations and develop efficient procurement strategies. Facilitate the movement of materials through the development, prototype, and production cycles, ensuring seamless operations.
Serve as a key user for our ERP system, currently Fishbowl, soon-to-be SAP, ensuring its effective utilization to streamline procurement processes and enhance supply chain visibility.
Continuously assess market conditions and analyze data to recommend strategic procurement and materials management adjustments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market dynamics.
Oversee the creation and distribution of essential paperwork for production, ensuring compliance with regulations and accurate material and lot tracking.
Develop and present reports to support departmental needs, providing valuable insights to foster data-driven decision-making during meetings.
Key KPIs: Inventory Turns, Stockout Rate, COGS, Inventory Accuracy, Raw Material Lead-time
Ad hoc tasks as assigned by the department manager or another management team member.

Do you qualify?

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a procurement role, with a track record of implementing best-in-class practices and optimizing inventory levels.
Experience in contract negotiations and vendor management.
3-5 years of experience in supply chain management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Experience using a major ERP system (e.g., p, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics, Fishbowl) as part of core job function.
1+ years experience in a regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, etc.)
Exposure to Lean methodologies; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Great attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Ability to multi-task on different projects while maintaining high-quality performance
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work cross-functionally with a team, including engineering, regulatory, marketing, and manufacturing personnel.
