In this role, you will assist with general engineering operations, performing preventive maintenance, and continuous monitoring and operation of all building systems. You will have a strong focus on building mechanicals, and electrical equipment, troubleshooting/repairing facility equipment, and learning the core functions of an operating engineer.

What will some of your day look like?
Painting, locksmith work, electrical, rounding, and general maintenance.
Assist other operational staff members in the repair and maintenance of building equipment.
(Under supervision)
Perform maintenance and monitor repairs to the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
Comply with policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintain records of work completed in a neat and organized manner.
Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
Ensure the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies and develop sources for stock materials related to maintaining the facility.
Demonstrate learning and understanding of compressed air systems and their supporting components.
Perform additional job duties as requested.

Who should apply?
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of technical training through Local 399 or equivalent.
Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
Some electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Must be a team player, and hard worker, and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn.

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS:
Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs and using ladders up to 12 feet.
The individual in this role must be available for call-in work.
