Job Description

Serve as a subject matter expert to other Field Service Engineers. Provide first-line technical backup or consultative support to other Field Service Engineers in critical customer situations/escalations. Networking IT Specialist with experience in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and provide specialized support for Bio-Rad's BRiCare remote support and monitoring system. Communicate effectively throughout any escalated field issue with follow through until issue is resolved to the customer's satisfaction. Work with Product Support to develop job aids and recommend product and process improvement.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to assess networking requirements for BRiCare and LIS deployment, plan network upgrades or expansions, and implement solutions to support BRiCare's remote support capabilities effectively.
  • Install, configure, and maintain BRiCare software components, ensuring proper functionality, security, and integration with laboratory instruments and systems.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, IT professionals, and BRiCare support personnel to facilitate remote support sessions, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize BRiCare performance to enhance laboratory efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for BRiCare network configurations and support procedures, facilitating knowledge sharing and ensuring consistency in system management and support.
  • Provide Field Service support through recommendations/repair assistance on escalated technical and service-related problems.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare environment, with a focus on supporting remote support systems such as BRiCare.
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and routing/switching technologies, with experience in optimizing network performance and security.
  • Experience with remote support systems, preferably BRiCare or similar platforms, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including laboratory staff, IT professionals, vendors, and management.

Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $41.59 - $74.00 at the time of posting. This range is inclusive of all geographic locations within the United States. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
