Job Responsibilities:

The Manager of Data Governance & Metadata provides support to the data governance function at the ADA by developing and enforcing data governance standards, procedures and guidelines that promote the ADA's Data Principles. This position will play a crucial role in the management of metadata for ADA's data assets by providing implementation, support and training for metadata management best practices and tools. This entails collaborating with data owners, data stewards, and other stakeholders to gather, validate and maintain metadata.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of data governance or data management experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience managing or supporting data governance strategies and data management practices.
  • Proficient in working with data governance/catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
  • Familiarity with data management technologies, data modeling, data integration and data classification concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and data security best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be able to provide guidance and training to data owners and data stewards.
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, or other relevant languages for data manipulation and analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    Nice to Have:

    • Relevant certifications in metadata management or data governance
    • Knowledge of Non-Invasive Data Governance
    • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards
    • Experience managing projects using Agile or a similar methodology
    • Experience with Salesforce
